For your own sake, go elsewhere
“Dr. Britton performed an unsuccessful surgery on me, and the office staff made it nearly impossible for me to get my records to go to another doctor. The full story is bellow.\n\nA few years ago Dr. Britton performed surgery on me to remove a cartilage growth from my finger. It seemed to be unsuccessful as my finger recently started hurting again (I cannot know for a fact whether or not that was his fault), so I had x-rays taken went back in to be seen again. When I arrived, after spending a lot of time in the waiting room, Dr. Britton told me that he couldn't tell whether or not I needed surgery again, because his staff hadn't gotten him my old x-rays to compare to the new ones (even though they had 3 weeks notice). He said he'd call me once he looked at them, and I told him 2 questions I'd like answered when he called. Awhile later, one of his nurses called me to tell me he thought I'd need surgery again, but didn't have answers to the 2 questions. I asked her to get them. She called me back a few days later with vague answers-- I still didn't know when I needed the surgery, and couldn't speak to Dr. Britton himself. So I decided to go elsewhere, but the new place needed my old records. I called HSA for the records and left a message on Thursday. They never returned my call, so I called back on Monday. They sent me the forms to fill out, but they require pre-payment and didn't know how much it would cost because they needed the records from archives first, which they said would arrive Friday. They promised to call me when they got in, but didn't. On Monday I called and spoke to someone else in records, who said they'd actually been sitting there since the previous Thursday. So I sent in a check, which took them about a week to cash. My new dr. still hadn't received my records after a couple of weeks so I kept calling HSA and leaving messages, they never answered or returned my phone calls. It has been 1 month since I originally requested my records, one week since they cashed my check, and only today did they answer my phone call, to tell me that my records just went out today. By the time my new dr. receives them, who knows when I'll be able to get the surgery I need.”
